Stakeholder Engagement

Stakeholder Engagement broadens the CAR-WEN’s influence by engaging multilateral institutions, donors, civil society groups, and governments outside the Wider Caribbean.

Our key engagement activities include:

  • Identifying & Prioritising External Stakeholders & Multilateral Partners. Mapping potential external allies such as intergovernmental bodies, foundations, global environmental agencies, and governments outside the Wider Caribbean that align with the CAR-WEN’s mission.

  • Developing Tailored Advocacy Plans & Information Documents. Crafting concise, evidence-based materials to communicate the CAR-WEN’s value in regional security, sustainable development, and wildlife protection.

  • Conducting Regional & International Outreach Campaigns. Presenting the CAR-WEN at international conferences, global policy dialogues, and high-level meetings to attract support and partnerships.

  • Strengthening Civil Society Coalitions & Grassroots Engagement. Engaging regional NGOs, community leaders, and activists to amplify local perspectives and build regional ownership of CAR-WEN initiatives.

  • Monitoring & Evaluating Advocacy Outcomes. Tracking new external partnerships, international policy endorsements, and measurable advocacy impacts to refine engagement strategies and maintain momentum.

By fostering a supportive international policy environment and broad alliances, Stakeholder Engagement ensures the CAR-WEN’s efforts can thrive long after its initial establishment, accelerating regional collaboration against wildlife crime. See the CAR-WEN Strategic Plan and our Stakeholder Engagement Strategy Diagram for additional details on these activities and intended outcomes.
